Dan Welch

Dan received his Master of Architecture degree from the University of British Columbia, CPHC from the Passive House Institute U.S., and has called Bellingham home for nearly twenty years. Driven by strong ethics of environmental and social equity, he enjoys synthesizing client goals, clean aesthetics, and rigorous building science into beautiful and cohesive projects.

Dan also walks the talk, living and working from a net-zero energy, water, and waste home – the first residence in Bellingham which elected to include no water or sewer connections. Notably, this project was the recipient of Green Builder Media’s Best Building Science award in 2015. He is also a member of the Birchwood Neighborhood Association, Bellingham Climate Action Task Force, and the Shift Zero steering committees.

When not drawn into the office for design work or late-night research, Dan enjoys gardening, cycling, or grilling dinner with his wife Ashley and their three children.
